January, 2012 : IOM Provides Emergency Assistance to Families Affected by Bombing in Baghdad
IOM has distributed relief items to 50 families living in the Baghdad neighborhood of Al-Shu'ala, whose homes were destroyed or damaged by a bomb attack. Four car bombs detonated across Baghdad on January 24, killing a total of 14 individuals and wounding 75.
October, 2011 : IOM Distributes Relief Items to 100 Families Displaced near Iraq-Iran Border
Fighting in northern Iraq has left hundreds of families displaced along the Iraq-Iran border. IOM Iraq recently carried out a distribution of relief items to 100 families on October 2, bringing the total of families assisted by IOM since the fighting began to 395 (or 2,370 individuals).
July, 2011 : IOM continues to support families displaced by military action along the Iraq-Iran border
IOM continues to support families displaced by the ongoing fighting between Iranian military forces and Iraqi Kurdish separatists. On July 27, IOM sent relief items to a further100 families living in a temporary camp in the village of Prdi Haso.

Ongoing fighting between Iranian military forces and Iraqi Kurdish separatists has led to the displacement of hundreds of families living in villages near the Iraq-Iran border in the governorate of Sulaymaniyah.
April 26, 2011 : IOM Continues to Support Families Affected by Flooding Throughout Iraq
The severe storms that occurred in Northern and Central Iraq in mid-April caused massive flooding and damaged the homes of hundreds of families. The Rawanduz District and Warte sub-district of Erbil were particularly affected on Friday, April 22, with severe rainstorms flooding a large portion of the Erbil governorate.

In the past week, Northern and Central Iraq have been battered by severe storms, causing massive flooding and damaging the homes of hundreds of families. One area that was particularly affected was Al Hur sub-district.
